Dessert

Oh my goodness, I have a wonderful surprise for you today! Let me tell you about my favorite dessert, the Caramel Cloud Cake. It’s like biting into a fluffy cloud with sweet sunshine on it. I first saw this cake at a friend’s birthday party a few years ago, and I couldn’t help but go back for more (and maybe even more!).

The light, airy texture and rich, buttery caramel flavor are what make it so special. It tastes like a fancy café dessert, but it’s actually pretty easy to make at home. This cake is great for birthdays, casual get-togethers, or even just to treat yourself on a Tuesday. It adds a little sweetness to even the dullest days. And seeing your friends enjoy every bite and their eyes light up is just the icing on the cake!

What goes into Caramel Cloud Cake?

Let’s get into how tasty the ingredients in this cake are, shall we? Each part is important for getting that heavenly cloud-like texture and rich flavor.

All-Purpose Flour: This is what makes up the cake. For a richer flavor, I like to use unbleached flour.

Sugar: It’s sweet, of course! We need granulated sugar for both the cake and the caramel sauce.

Baking powder is the little magic powder that makes our cake light and fluffy.

Salt: A little bit makes the sweetness stronger and the flavors more balanced.

Eggs: They add moisture and structure. Using eggs that are at room temperature helps them mix in better.

Butter without salt: rich, creamy, and delicious! I suggest using good butter because it makes the taste better.

Milk: Adds moisture; buttermilk can also be used for a richer flavor.

Heavy cream: We’ll use this for our caramel sauce because who doesn’t love that rich creaminess?

Brown Sugar: This will be the main ingredient in our caramel sauce, giving it the rich, gooey taste we love.

Vanilla extract: A splash gives it more flavor. For the best taste, make sure it’s real vanilla extract.

Is the Caramel Cloud Cake Healthy?

This cake is definitely a treat, but it does have some good points that make it worth eating in moderation.

Eggs are a great source of protein and important vitamins and minerals like riboflavin and vitamin B12.

Butter: A small amount of butter can add healthy fats to your diet, which are good for your brain.

This cake, on the other hand, is definitely high in sugar and calories. If you’re looking for something healthier, it’s best to save this for a special occasion instead of eating it every day! Believe me, every bite is worth it!

List of Ingredients

– 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour – 1 cup of granulated sugar – 2 teaspoons of baking powder
– 3 big eggs at room temperature
– ½ cup of melted unsalted butter
– 1/2 cup of milk (or buttermilk for a richer flavor)
– 1 cup of heavy cream (for the caramel)
– 1 cup of packed brown sugar
– 1 tsp. vanilla extract

This recipe makes about eight servings, so it’s great for sharing (or not).

How do you make caramel cloud cake?

1. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a round cake pan that is 9 inches wide.

2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix well by stirring.

3. In a different big bowl, beat the sugar and eggs together until they are light in color and fluffy.

4. Add the melted butter slowly and mix well. After that, add the vanilla extract and milk.

5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing just until they are all mixed together. Don’t mix too much!

6. Pour the batter into the cake pan you prepared and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick that you put in comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before putting it on a wire rack.

8. While the cake cools, make the sauce for the caramel. Put the brown sugar and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar melts. Let it simmer for a few minutes after bringing it to a gentle boil.

9. After the cake has cooled, pour the caramel sauce over the top and let it run down the sides.

10. If you want to be extra fancy, serve it with a dollop of whipped cream.

Surprises that are sweet!

Try adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter for a fun twist if you want to change things up a bit. You can also try flavored extracts, like almond or hazelnut, to give your food a new flavor.

I also love the idea of serving this cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The warm caramel sauce and cold ice cream are the perfect mix of tastes and temperatures.

I can’t wait for you to taste this Caramel Cloud Cake! I hope you enjoy making it as much as I do. Your friends and family will be impressed. Please tell me how yours turns out; I love hearing about your cooking adventures! Happy baking!
